The Capital One City Parks Foundation SummerStage Festival’s Central Park flagship venue is uniquely situated outdoors in a stunning location in the heart of Central Park at Rumsey Playfield, 72nd Street and Fifth Avenue. The venue is available for either fully private buyouts or you can rent one of the VIP spaces for smaller groups during one of our planned SummerStage concerts. The venue is available from late May to early October, rain or shine.

SummerStage in Central Park underwent an extensive $6 million upgrade in 2019, transforming the space into a state-of-the-art, seasonal concert facility. With a capacity of 5,000 and a fully built-out, production-ready stage, A/V package, VIP seating areas, and concessions booths, combined with our ability to provide you with check-in, sanitation, security, and permitting, there are few comparable outdoor NYC event experiences as memorable and as easy to facilitate.

Shared space features:

Direct, unobstructed views of the stage
60 graded seats protected from the rain plus two patios for viewing — one elevated above the entire crowd, the other at stage level for close-up viewing and dancing
Complimentary backstage bar with deck for overflow and quiet conversation
Access to air conditioned restrooms
Wait service for concessions

Private event option:

Elevated top patio can be rented out for private events for up to 50 guests (approx. 475 ft.). Special catering package with bar service available.

Shared space features:

Center view of the stage
Upper level viewing balcony
Shared, shaded and graded seating
Complimentary bar with wait service for concessions
Access to air conditioned restrooms

Private event option:

Elevated top balcony can be rented out for private events for up to 90 guests standing (approx. 640 ft.). Special catering package with bar service available.

At City Parks Foundation, our mission is to encourage New Yorkers to use their neighborhood parks by offering free environmental education, arts, sports, and community-building programs that bring people into their local green spaces.

In 2023, City Parks Foundation reached more than 275,000 New Yorkers with our free programming in local parks. We’re only able to provide free concerts, education, sports, and community programs with the support of people like you.
