Torrance, California’s Joyce Manor broke out in 2011 with their self-titled debut LP, propelled out of the SoCal basement scene and into the hearts of hardcore kids, emos, and pop-punkers across the country. Ten years, five albums, four splits, three EPs, and two compilations later, they’ve become standard-bearers for a new generation of emotionally adept pop-punk bands that have cleansed the word emo from its pejorative connotations. For SummerStage, they’re joined in celebrating their debut’s 10th anniversary by their East-Coast emo peers Turnover (Virginia), Surf Curse (California) and Prince Daddy & The Hyena (Albany, NY) for a showcase of some of the various micro scenes of emo’s 4th wave.
