This It’s My Park season, volunteer with Brooklyn Solid Waste Advisory Board (BK SWAB) to beautify Bush Terminal Piers Park. This event will be a part of the Riverkeeper Sweep: an annual, community-led day of service focused on cleaning up and restoring the Hudson River and its tributaries. Held around early May, thousands of volunteers participate in projects spanning from NYC to the Adirondacks, removing marine plastic and litter, planting trees, and removing invasive species to restore shoreline health. Our main focus will be cleaning up and cataloguing the debris and refuse we find along the shoreline. We look forward to cleaning up the park with you!
Volunteers should meet at the public restroom, then splitting up in groups to clean along or as close to the water line as possible.
