NYC Green Fund Crowdfunding Challenge Application

OVERVIEW

The NYC Green Fund Crowdfunding Challenge provides up to $2,500 ($3,000 for organizations based in Environmental Justice Areas) in matching funds for approved community projects that are hosted through an ioby crowdfunding campaign. Projects benefiting an NYC green space—including parks and related green streets or street trees, playgrounds, GreenThumb community gardens, and Non-GreenThumb community gardens

are eligible to have their ioby crowdfunding campaign matched. If approved, the NYC Green Fund contributes one dollar for every dollar raised-up to $2,500 ($3,000 for organizations based in Environmental Justice Areas)!

What's New in 2024:

  • Eligible organizations must be currently working and actively collaborating with Partnerships for Parks or GreenThumb and have an operating budget under $50,000.
  • Organizations are now eligible for up to $2,500 in match funding to double the impact of donations towards their local park, community garden, green street, street tree, or other green space projects.
  • If your organization's public space is based in an Environmental Justice Area (EJA), you qualify for $3,000 in match funding. This includes an additional $500 to further support your efforts in these crucial areas. Visit this page to determine if you are based in an EJA.
