Featured Speakers:

This workshop will be led by members of the Open Data team within NYC Parks’ Innovation and Performance Management (IPM) division. IPM was created in 2015 to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the agency’s work. The team focuses on standardizing how divisions work, improving the quality and accessibility of Parks data, devising new ways to measure work that empower staff to make better decisions, and using technology to increase productivity.

• Zachary Feder, Project Manager, NYC Parks
  Zachary Feder started at Parks in 2008, working first as an analyst in Parks’ Bronx office, and later handling media relations for the Bronx and Queens. In his current role, Zachary tracks repair and cleaning work to improve the quality of NYC’s playgrounds.
• Tessa Leverone, Project Development Coordinator, NYC Parks
  Tessa started with NYC Parks in 2012, recruiting volunteers and leading workshops as an outreach coordinator with the MillionTreesNYC initiative. Later she became a correspondence liaison, connecting the forestry division and the public. In her current role, Tessa works on programs that improve and standardize how NYC Parks operates.
• Samuel Pollack, Data Analytics Specialist , NYC Parks
  Samuel brings technical expertise to IPM’s efforts to improve agency operations. In addition to his work on Open Data, Samuel works to increase data literacy around the agency, improve how NYC Parks uses its vehicles, and use modeling to quantify and understand park visitation.
