The Puerto Rican singer Tito Nieves got his start with orchestras in New York, but made a name for himself as a solo artist in the ‘80s by singing salsa in English. He scored a massive hit in 1997 with his spirited cover of Pete Rodriguez’s “I Like It Like That.” For his show on Staten Island, he’s joined by the Puerto Rican freestyle singer Cynthia, best known for her 1991 duet with Johnny O “Dreamboy/Dreamgirl” and her cover of the Stylistics’ soul classic “Break Up to Make Up.” DJ Lucy Euclid and Vinnie Medugno will be on the ones and twos.
