Tash Sultana is a Melbourne-based multi-instrumentalist who uses loop pedals with such deft dexterity it can often seem like witchcraft. After recovering from a drug-induced psychosis at 17 years old, they made a name for themselves online with live one-person-band performances of songs like “Jungle,” which hit 1 million views in five days. Sultana can play 20 instruments—including guitar, bass, trumpet, flute, percussion and saxophone—and blends reggae rhythms, orchestral rock sounds, and mind-searing solos with a vocal timbre and delivery that is unmistakable for anyone else. Their latest LP Flow State took home the 2018 ARIA award for Blues and Roots Album and the Pop Award for Album of the Year.
