Until 2007, Samini was known as Batman—an acronym for Best of All Time Man—an appropriate title for one of Ghana’s most accomplished pop artists. Since the release of his debut studio album Dankwasere in 2004, the self-described “African Dancehall” singer from Wa, Ghana has taken home multiple Ghana Music Awards, as well as the “Best African Act” trophy at the 2006 MOBO Awards. His pedigree is undisputed, boasting collaborations with artists such as Etana, Steel Pulse, Popcaan and Busy Signal; His latest LP, Untamed, was named 2018’s album of the year by Reggaeville. He’s supported by Efya, a Ghanaian pop singer from Kumasi who won four consecutive Ghana Music Awards for Best Female Vocal Performance (2011-2014) and collaborated with Mr Eazi on their breakout hit “Skin Tight.”
