A screening of the new documentary film Mixtape, an exploration of the history and impact of the mixtape in hip-hop culture. The film features interviews with mixtape pioneers such as Kid Capri, DJ Clue, DJ Drama, and Funkmaster Flex, as well as rappers Lil Wayne, KRS-One, Jeezy, and Bun B. The film will be presented alongside DJ sets from veteran DJs who have each made their own unique contributions to mixtape culture, such as the “Youngest in Charge” Ron G, the “Finisher” Mister Cee, the “Bouncemasta” Doo Wop, mixtape pioneer Brucie B, and the “Taino Turntable Terrorist” Tony Touch.
