Siblings Clyde and Gracie Lawrence have been making art and performing for most of their lives—Clyde wrote the theme song for their dad Marc’s film Miss Congeniality when he was six, and Gracie made her Broadway debut at 12. With their band Lawrence, they’ve channeled the creative energy fomented at home in their New York City apartment into a sprawling musical project with lush, eight-piece arrangements. Their latest album Hotel TV is a keyboard-driven pop soul project with a modern feel. The Bronx’s Misterwives were born as an 80s cover band for singer Mandy Lee‘s birthday, and have evolved into a funk-driven pop band whose latest LP SUPERBLOOM explores Lee and drummer Etienne Bowler’s breakup. California’s Winnetka Bowling League’s reverb-drenched sunshine sounds way brighter than their name might suggest; their latest EP Congratulations features the single “CVS”, a song about searching for a make-up gift late at night when the only thing open is the drugstore.
