The East Coast alt-rock institution that is Guster emerged from Boston in 1994 playing stadium-sized rock with sing-along harmonies and hand-drummed percussion. The four-piece ruled the college circuit in the late 90s, breaking into the mainstream in 1999 with its fourth LP Lost and Gone Forever and the hit single “Fa Fa.” After spending much of the aughts on major labels, Guster founded their own label, Ocho Mule; The band recorded their latest LP, the uncharacteristically electronic-leaning Look Alive, in a vintage keyboard museum in Calgary. They’re supported by the Brooklyn-based indie-pop band Rubblebucket; Founded by musical couple Alex Toth (trumpet) and Kalmia Traver (saxophone), their horn-heavy dance jams will feel right at home with the Vampire Weekend set.
