6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Soundview Park, The Bronx, 10473
In August of 1973, the New York City borough of The Bronx gave birth to the legendary music known as Hip Hop. 47 years later, the phenomenon has since made its way around the globe, impacting dance floors and communities from Soundview to Shanghai, and just recently becoming the biggest-selling genre in the US in 2017. This July 25th come on a musical journey with DJ’s Grandwizzard Theodore, father of the scratch; DJ Perly, the 1st woman to win the USA DMC DJ Champion title & DJ Collective Uptown Vinyl Supreme, accompanied by Boogie Down All-Stars playing live percussion.
In addition to the disc jockeys we can’t forget the next two important elements crucial to the foundation of Hip-Hop: The Emcee and Breaker. With a live performance from the soulful Hip-Hop group Boom Bits then dancing with Breakfresh for an all the way live tribute to the styles and sounds that have rocked the planet since day one.
