A stacked lineup of old-school doo-wop and R&B playing the golden oldies from back in the day. The Duprees are a Jersey City doo-wop group best known for their highest-charting single “You Belong to Me”; The Coasters hail from LA, where they made their mark with R&B hits by the songwriting duo Leiber and Stoller, such as “Charlie Brown” and No. 1 hit “Yakety Yak.” The R&B institution the Drifters has been active for the past 70 years, representing various lineups and repertoire; Charlie Thomas’s version, which debuted in the early ‘70s, now features Jeff Hall, along with members of Charlie’s classic original lineup. Bobby Wilson draws from the legacy of his father, the rock and roll and R&B hall-of-famer considered one of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time by Rolling Stone. Stan Zizka leads the three surviving members of the Del Satins, best known for their harmonies on hit records with Dion. Vito Picone & The Elegants had a No. 1 hit in 1958 with the nursery rhyme-inspired “Little Star,” and tribute group the Chiclettes pays homage to the iconic female artists from the early days of rock and roll, Motown, disco, and more. The show is hosted by WCBS personality Joe Causi with DJ Vinnie Medugno (seen on PBS Next Generation) in tribute to Gene Pitney.
