6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
1700 Crotona Ave, The Bronx, 10457
Please note, Eddie Palmieri will not be performing on this date.
Born to Puerto Rican parents in the South Bronx, Eddie Palmieri had already performed at Carnegie Hall by the time he was 11 years old. The GRAMMY award-winning pianist, bandleader, arranger, and composer has spent much of his life mastering his craft, innovating new styles and sounds that place him at the vanguard of salsa and Latin jazz. In the early ‘60s, his band La Perfecta laid the foundation for the New York salsa sound by swapping out trumpets in favor of trombones for his front line. His orchestra is joined by Lulada Club, an all-female salsa band that also plays boogaloo, bolero, and cha cha cha, mixing classics and deep cuts from across Latin America and the diaspora. Bronx-born Dominican DJ JFuse will warm up the crowd with a mix of the sounds of the Caribbean and the street.
