Born in Cuba and raised in the Bronx, Eduardo Vilaro, is a dancer, choreographer, and educator using Latin dance traditions to bring diversity, inclusion, and community engagement to the 21st century cultural landscape. As artistic director and CEO of Ballet Hispánico, Vilaro has infused the company’s legacy with a bold and eclectic brand of contemporary dance. Originally joining Ballet Hispánico in 1985 as a dancer, he founded and spent 10 years as the artistic director of Luna Negra Dance Theater in Chicago.
