In Memoriam: Seniors Fitness Supporter Woody Mann

City Parks Foundation mourns the passing of world renowned guitarist Woody Mann; our dear friend and loyal supporter of our Seniors Fitness program.

Woody will be remembered by the entire CPF family for his artistry, his kindness, and as a steadfast friend of our Board Vice Chair and founder of the Seniors Fitness program, David Pinter. Woody gave both his time and extraordinary musicianship generously by supporting our Seniors Fitness Benefit since the event’s inception 15 years ago.

A modern master and devoted teacher, Woody first studied guitar in the living room of the legendary blues, gospel, and ragtime guitarist, Reverend Gary Davis. Woody later paid tribute to his mentor by co-producing “Harlem Street Singer”, the award winning feature documentary on the life of Rev. Davis.

We will miss him dearly.
