Kes the Band has been flying the flag for its Trinidad and Tobago soca-influenced Caribbean pop since 2006’s Three Baldheads and A Dread, but truly broke out at Carnival in 2011 with their infectious hit “Wotless.” Led by the three Dieffenthaller brothers and their friend Riad Boochoon, Kes wields island rhythms with a reggae and soca heart and calypso melodies. They also had a hit with 2013’s “Tuesday on the Rocks,” which became the namesake for their annual concert held on the Tuesday before Trinidad and Tobago’s Carnival celebration (since 2014) featuring local, regional, and international artists.
