This Uptown party in honor of “Uncle” Ralph McDaniels celebrates NYC OG who’s made significant contributions to hip-hop. McDaniels is the long-time host of the public television show Video Music Box (since 1983!) and helped introduce Nas and the Wu-Tang Clan to the world, directing their first official music videos. Reporting from the clubs and the streets, he helped bring hip-hop to the masses without cable television—reaching an audience untapped by the nascent music channel MTV.
