Patrick Watson the man is a musician from Montreal; Patrick Watson the band is the group he formed with guitarist Joe Grass, percussionist Evan Tighe, and bassist Mishka Stein. Over the last two decades their ethereal soundscapes imbued with psychedelic soul swagger have drawn comparisons to the likes of Andrew Bird and Jeff Buckley. Their 2006 album Close to Paradise bested Arcade Fire’s Neon Bible and Feist’s The Reminder for the Polaris Music Prize, awarded annually to the best full-length Canadian album. Patrick Watson’s latest album Wave was released last year on Domino.
