The Trinidadian soca singer (and many time SummerStage alum!) is bringing her I Am Woman tour to New York City this spring. She’s known for her commanding stage presence and joyous, bumping sound, turning venues into parties wherever she goes. Her new single, the Carnaval anthem “Great Escape,” was fittingly called a “welcome taste of musical escapism” in Billboard’s list this month of the best reggae and dancehall songs.
