In 2013, Mr. Palmieri was honored with the NEA Jazz Masters Award, the nation’s highest honor in jazz, recognizing him as a true American Musical icon. 2013 also saw Mr. Palmieri given the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Latin Grammys.
