Duck Down Music Inc is a New York City based indie record label, founded by Drew “Dru-Ha” Friedman and Kenyatta “Buckshot” Blake in 1995. In Duck Down’s 25 year history, the Company has released over 50 albums and sold more than 5 million collective equivalents worldwide. Home of legendary hip hop artists such as Black Moon, Smif n Wessun, Heltah Skeltah, Sean Price, and O.G.C making up the Boot Camp Clik, the label has also distributed albums from the likes of Pharoahe Monch, 9th Wonder, KRS-One, B-Real of Cypress Hill, Statik Selektah, Random Axe, Marco Polo, Ruste Juxx, Skyzoo and many more.

The groundbreaking collective who have proven the impact of longevity through a fiercely independent label model, while holding the respect in hip-hop from the underground to some of hip-hop’s most notable figures.  The Duckdown spirit and their signature style helped influence the 90’s generation of hip-hop and many that followed.

For many past summers, in conjunction with Capital One City Parks Foundation SummerStage, Duck Down has hosted a free show and BBQ in Brooklyn, NY. The event has been a homecoming for the label’s seminal group, Boot Camp Clik, who grew up in Brownsville, Brooklyn. This year, Duck Down will celebrate their 25 years of independence and commemorate the anniversary with a special digital event for fans to enjoy worldwide.
