In association with the Institut Ramon Llull, Catalan Sounds on Tour brings a vibrant showcase of the music of Catalonia to the heart of Central Park. Sidonie, a Barcelona-based psych-pop trio, is known for songs that seamlessly blend Hindu music, surrealism, and rock. After more than 25 years together, their latest LP, Marc, Axel and Jes, strips their sound to its roots, packed with bracing two-and-a-half-minute jams that capture the healing power of a great rock record. The Balkan Paradise Orchestra, an all-female ensemble comprising wind and percussion players, takes the spirit of the Balkans and infuses it with various rhythms and worldwide traditions. Their new album, Nectar, explores the world of bees, riffing on themes of travel, teamwork, and personal and collective effort. The self-taught composer and multi-instrumentalist Lau Noah has been breaking hearts and turning heads with her voice and guitar in New York City since 2014, but broke out in 2019 with her debut on NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert series—the first Catalan artist to do so. The event is a unique opportunity to experience the rich and diverse Catalan music scene in New York.

Catalan Sounds on Tour at SummerStage is supported by the Ministry of Culture of Spain.
