CityParks Sports Apprenticeship Application

CityParks High School Apprenticeship Program gives students the opportunity to gain valuable experience in the field of Recreational Sports Management.

Taking place from February - June 2018, five select participants aged 16-17 will obtain hands-on classroom and in-the field experience in the sports industry while receiving HS volunteer credit and building valuable life and career skills. Apprentices will then have the opportunity to participate in a paid internship from July - August 2018 assisting CPF's free youth sports programs reaching 12,000 kids citywide.

Participants will be required to dedicate roughly 3 hours per week during the apprenticeship, plus one Saturday per month. Meeting locations will primarily be at the CityParks Sports office in Flushing Meadows Corona Park in Queens and will also include park locations where CPF runs programs across the 5 boroughs.

Applicants who meet the requirements will be asked to attend a group and/or personal interview as part of the selection process.
