Blending together elements of R&B, funk, and ‘80s pop, Blood Orange is the most recent project of British producer and singer Dev Hynes. A well-established songwriter (having worked closely with Solange and Tinashe, among others), Hynes reached critical acclaim with his 2016 album, Freetown Sound. Hynes’s distinctive R&B/electronica grooves, paired with spoken-word poetry and vocal sampling, earned the record top-20 spots on both Noisey’s and Pitchfork‘s Best Albums of 2016.
