DESCRIPTION:IMPORTANT UPDATE: Due to the threat of severe weather\, New York Sings Yiddish has been rescheduled from Monday\, June 22 to Thursday\, September 17 at 7 PM. \nWhile we’re disappointed not to gather with you tomorrow evening\, the good news is that we’ll still be celebrating together this fall with an unforgettable night of Yiddish music under the stars at SummerStage in Central Park. \nWe look forward to seeing you on September 17! \n  \nThe National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene returns to Central Park with a bold\, joyful lineup of emerging talent and distinctive voices. Musical director Zalmen Mlotek leads a fresh wave of artists shaping the sound of today. Mlotek is a conductor\, pianist\, musical arranger\, accompanist\, composer\, and the Artistic Director of the NYTF\, the longest continuously running Yiddish theatre in the world. \nThe performance features an exciting roster of rising stars\, including Yair Keydar\, the 13-year-old Star Search veteran; Yosef Kogan\, the 13-year-old violin prodigy who has performed at Carnegie Hall\, Merkin Hall\, and the Prague String Festival; The Mamales\, a dynamic trio of young women singers who met while performing Fiddler on the Roof in Yiddish; Riki Rose\, a Yiddish singer\, songwriter\, comedian from Williamsburg’s Satmar community; Margot Weintraub\, the young actress and singer best known for roles in the Amazon series Hunters and Sarah Silverman’s Off-Broadway show The Bedwetter; and special guests The Shvesters\, a dazzling and distinctive duo that transform classic Yiddish melodies into new jazz arrangements. Serving as masters of ceremony are the stars of the Canadian web series YidLife Crisis\, collaborating with Frank London’s Klezmer All Stars\, a brass group that blends Yiddish\, Hasidic music\, and Klezmer with electronic beats.

After some time pursuing solo projects\, they’re reuniting for The Mouse Parade Tour\, named for their most recent 2025 album. Indie singer songwriter August Ponthier will open the evening.
